Our commitment

Vianorr Education is committed to making its platform accessible to all users, including those who use assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA — the current W3C Recommendation — across all public pages.

Target standard

WCAG 2.2 Level AA

WCAG 2.2 (published October 2023) is the current W3C Recommendation for web accessibility. It adds criteria beyond WCAG 2.1, including improvements to focus appearance, dragging movements, and target sizes. Our target standard is WCAG 2.2 AA, not 2.1.

Testing methods

  • ✓Keyboard-only navigation testing across all primary user flows
  • ✓Screen reader testing with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS / iOS)
  • ✓Colour-contrast verification against WCAG 2.2 AA ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components)
  • ✓Automated scanning with Axe and Lighthouse
  • ✓Manual review of ARIA roles, labels, and live-region announcements
  • ✓Focus-order and focus-visibility review on all interactive components

Known limitations

The following areas are under active review and may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA:

  • ·Adviser comparison table — column navigation by keyboard needs improvement
  • ·Mobile navigation menu — focus trap and escape-key behaviour being finalised
  • ·Compensation-disclosure badges — supplementary text descriptions being added
  • ·Filter sidebar on schools page — multi-select keyboard interaction in progress
  • ·Source-drawer components — ARIA live-region announcements not yet implemented

Provider status is never communicated by colour alone — every badge includes an accessible text label.

How to report an issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, we want to know. Please describe the issue, the page where it occurs, and the assistive technology you are using.

Response process

Accessibility reports are triaged within 5 business days. Critical barriers — those preventing core task completion — are prioritised for immediate remediation. We aim to acknowledge all reports within 2 business days and provide a resolution timeline within 10 business days.
