About the platform
How the marketplace works
There are several ways to build an education platform. Each has a different trust model, commercial structure, and scope of responsibility. Here is what Vianorr Education is, what it is not, and why.
Marketplace model comparison
| Model | Description | Benefit | Main weakness | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open directory | Anyone creates a listing | Easy to launch | Low trust, low value | Reject |
| Lead-generation site | Providers buy contact information | Fast monetization | Spam, low-quality leads, off-platform leakage | Reject as core model |
| Managed marketplace | Screened providers, matching, booking, and reviews | Trust and differentiated utility | Operationally demanding | Recommended |
| Application aggregator | Platform contracts with schools and submits applications | Stronger transaction control | Heavy contracts, data, and compliance | Later — only if institutional evidence supports it |
| Direct consultancy | Vianorr delivers advice itself | More control | Labour-heavy, conflicts with platform vision | Reject |
| Provider SaaS only | Software for agencies | Predictable revenue | Weak student marketplace | Complementary, not sufficient on its own |
The long-term model is: managed marketplace first, SaaS-enabled marketplace second, application aggregator only if institutional evidence supports it. Vianorr will not hold tuition, institutional deposits, or government fees.
The core commercial transaction
The platform optimises one transaction at launch. This is more achievable than automating every school application, and more valuable than a generic lead-generation flow.
